A: Trees could be used for shelter, furniture, tools, clothings, baskets and paper (I would even add heat from fire.) Water could be used for drinking and also for electricity (think about the Whitehorse Dam in Riverdale.) Mountains may contain minerals or stone that could be used to make tools or other materials.

Please continue with your Earth Day Story that should have been started Tuesday.
(see photo below of the story starter choices)

I've received some questions about this assignment.  So to clarify, I am adding a youtube video about plastic.  Think about what we do every day to help our earth's environment.    What else can we do  to help our environment?
1)    brainstorming--> get all your ideas out in a web (like we do for a school wide write) , listing your big idea, and supporting details, then
2)   use your brainstorm to think about how you will   organize your ideas      so you can write with a good sequence:
                  a) beginning  (introduction)
                    b) middle
                   c) end (conclusion)
Be sure to reread your work once you think you are finished.   Look for the following:
  • complete sentences (start with a capital, end with a period)
  • your big ideas are supported with good detail
  • there is a good flow of ideas
  • spelling
